Recently on Facebook, a friend posted an article about The 4 P’s of photography by Michael Greene. In it he states, “If weddings and babies are your thing, blow my mind with that stuff but don’t mix in some architectural and a few product shots. If you want to be a utilitarian photographer my advice would be to create a separate whole identity and website for that specific purpose.” What he said really struck a chord and caused me to go back and really scrutinize my blog. Seeing my posts jumbled between personal projects and business projects made me feel a disconnect between which audiences I was trying to reach. So I came to the conclusion to create separate blogs to document my weddings and personal endeavors. Jump on over to the blog to catch the first post, Albert & Ethel, one of many weddings I photographed with my partner Jessica Fraser. We were also voted “Best of..” for 2011 and 2012 on The Knot! So exciting, I can’t wait to get around to this years weddings as we will be traveling out of San Diego for two of them.

I was tapped to do a photo spread on a dinner themed article for a local mag at a local italian restaurant a couple months back. Unfortunately, just one of my pictures made it in, and not how I would have hoped. Oh well, bottoms up anyway!

Ahh, fun times to remember! I had this awesome fabric that I bought in downtown LA and just never had the opportunity to use it. Then at that moment R2 brings a group of us together for some shooting and look what happens!

Did a shoot revolving around a vampire theme. Though the images that I captured are closer to high fashion, the ones captured by friends Ryan Rivera and Aryo Seto were nothing but amazing in their post productions. Make up was done by the wonderful Keifla Antonio of If Looks Could Kill Artistry. Again, amazing work, amazing coordination = amazing images!!

So I took a drive up to Julian with a friend of mine thinking that there was going to be snow, but surprise there was none! San Diego and it’s wonderful weather darn you! It was still pretty cold though.

A Thing of Beauty

I don’t remember when I took these but I dug them up from the archives. I went to the Marinello School of Beauty in Miramar, San Diego where several students were hard at work completing their assignment for the day. They were to make up their models who were then to be photographed for a cosmetics brand, the best photo would then be used to promote the brand. The winning photo is the last photo on the right.

It’s that time of year where the temperature rises, the days last a little bit longer and students are making that first step forward to take on the world. The Learning Center Academy graduating class held their ceremony at the Point Loma Nazarene Greek Theater. Congratulations to Fisher on his big day!
